Yeah, Trois-Rivieres a bit of a 'modern Bloc-turned-NDP' archetype that way: CEGEPpy to the max, and also more of a long-established 'inner city' seat than your average 450er to the west. *No way* in the present will it shift away--particularly given how unlike Sherbrooke, the NDP in 2011 *doubled* the Bloc vote, rather than simply reducing it to a manageable 30something... |

If you had to pick a handful of Quebec ridings where the Orange Crush is likely to endure for a long time, Trois-Rivières would be one of them. It's tailor-made for the NDP : a gentrifying industrial city with a VERY large student population as a proportion of the total. It would take an NDP collapse in the province for any other party to win here. Big win here for the Mulcair-led NDP. |

Likely will stay NDP, but Quebec is unpredictable so that could always change. |

Aubin is a big-wig in the NDP caucus and without a significant challenger from any of the other parties, this riding will stay NDP orange. |
