| Like Lagan Valley and East Londonderry, this is a seat where the DUP romped to an easy win in 2005. While the whole idea that since then the DUP has sat down and formed a government with Sinn Fein may indicate a radical change, what is perhaps most of note is that the DUP has not suffered gigantic hits on the polls for this. Polls are rare in NI but the few that have been published show the DUP leading the Unionist movement. Perhaps it is NI voters that have changed, and the DUP that has shifted to accommodate this. |
