| A town I know well. It came within 400 votes of being won by the Tories in the 1983 Thatcher Landslide but since then has been rock solid. John Marek MP is retiring to concentrate on his work in the National Assembly - the Assembly being one of the banana skins that Labour could trip up on in North Wales. Wrexham voted 56% NO in the 1997 devolution referendum. Easy Labour hold predicted but majority may slip. |
