| Having won this seat with a reasonably convincing majority in 1997, Evan Harris has succeeded in building up a strong local reputation. Local Lib Dem victories against Labour (including taking control of the city council - together with the Greens - from Labour in 2000) as well as the fairly poor local performance of the Tories and Evan Harris' strong performance during the Laura Spence controversy should ensure him of a comfortable win among the dreaming spires. |
