| John Solomon is a very well known name here in Regina. He has been elected three times MLA and now elected twice as MP. His work on the price of gas (even before the issue was fashionable) should stand him good position leading into this election. Furthermore his riding is a relitively safe seat for NDP. Safe seat + well known incumbent = convincing NDP victory |

| Solomon was the only rookie in the '93 NDP rump; and he succeeded Les Benjamin, who had just about the best NDP vote in '88. Tells ya something. Only if CA sweeps Sask will this be budging. |
