For the first time in 32 yrs. Jim Wilson will not be the PC candidate here on June 2. Won't matter, the PC's will hold on here. |

Collingwood Mayor Brian Saunderson, who was personally tapped by the Premier to run here, will hold this seat easily. |

Not enough of a swing but it could be a very slim victory. Saunderson is not well liked as mayor and he is running a terrible campaign so far. Liberal candidate is the best candidate that they have had for years and is well know in Collingwood area. Demographics have changed significantly in the riding in the last few years. Long time Wilson supporters are upset with Ford because of how he has treated Wilson. |

An inglorious end to Jim Wilson's political reign, but not to that of his party. The only "danger" would be if Jim Wilson ran as an independent--and it wouldn't necessarily even be on behalf of Lib/NDP/Green. But Wilson (unlike Helena Guergis federally) is sensible enough to spare constituents such a run, and constituents are sensible enough to stick to the tried and true and be forgiving of the previous office-holder's trespasses, and the Mayor of Collingwood's a sensible candidate choice--after all, Collingwood's traditionally among the weaker spots in the riding for the Tories, so nothing like a nice firm anchor there. (And it's too Central Ontario Heartland sensible for dissident-right forces to nab energy; PPC was single digit here in '21, not double digits like in the SW Ontario Bible Belt.) |

Jim Wilson held this riding for a long time when he was a pc mpp , been an independent for a while now and surprised he didn?¢â‚¬â„¢t leave earlier and have a by election here to replace him. The new pc candidate is Brian Saunderson who is mayor of Collingwood . not sure if any of the other parties have candidates yet. A long time conservative riding federally and provincially so likely to stay pc. |

Should go easily blue. It has been held by Jim Wilson for the last 32 years, and even though he is not seeking re election due to expulsion from the PC caucus, this will be one of the easiest wins the PCs will have on election night. |
