PC incumbent and cabinet minister Sylvia Jones will be re-elected. The Greens will try to finish second here and will likely succeed.

This is actually more of an outer-GTA Central than SW Ontario seat; and it's more of a PCs-vs-mice race than a prospective 2-way PC-vs-NDP fight, unless the '18 Dippercentric Brampton dynamic endures into '22 and continues to bleed northward into Mayfield West. Otherwise, you can just as well assume that the Libs will reassume "rightful" 2nd place honours via the Del Ducaish climes of Bolton--plus it's one of those seats where there remains an opening for Greens in 2nd place instead, *if* Schreiner's forces have any pretense t/w being more than a single-seat party. But again, this is all for 2nd, not 1st.

Sylvia Jones was first elected here in 2007 after John Tory briefly represented the riding. She is fairly well known by now and serves in cabinet. Riding seen as rural but a growing suburban presence in Orangeville/Caledon area. some past opposition candidates returning such as Laura Campbell Green and Bob Gordanier Liberal. Tess Pendergast listed as new ndp candidate. likely pc hold

For the most part, Southwestern Ontario (other than KW/Tricities) will be two way fight between PC and NDP. Jones survived all those Liberal years, not going to lose now that she is a senior, visible cabinet minister.
