Louis Plamondon has been mp for this riding since 1984 which seems hard to believe but he was first elected as a pc mp when Mulroney PM. a longtime bloc Quebecois riding so likely hold but kind of surprised he ran again this year. |

Ho hum, yet another slam-dunk go-around for Plamondon. That aside, what's interesting here is the Lib-CPC tug-of-war for 2nd--reflecting the riding's intersticiality btw/ Greater Montreal and Greater Quebec. (Naturally, the Montreal end favoured the Libs, the Quebec end favoured the Cons. And the Montreal end was actually better for the Bloc through ‘Sorel-Tracy industriousness’, while the Quebec end was Bloc-softer due to spillover rural Con dynamic from adjacent ridings.) |
