Coderre won comfortably here in 2008 and is probably secure in this election. He was Quebec Lieutenant for a while until he quit in a huge protest. Based on the challenges the Liberals are currently facing in the polls, it turns out that Coderre may have been the one they needed in charge of the Quebec team afterall. |

This area did go Bloc in 1993, but with its large Allophone population as well as the fact Coderre won by double digits even during the height of adscam, the Liberals should hold this, just maybe not by the obscene margins they get in some of the other West Island ridings. |

Coderre is a bully-boy and although the thought of him leading the liberal party, or any party for that matter, is terrifying, he will win here. |

Coderre holds onto this seat. Really think Coderre could be a strong candidate for Liberal leader after the next election. |

Coderre won huge last time, by more than any other election that he contested except 2000 (well he lost in 1993). So a similar result is likely to occur this time, probably a bit closer. |

Coderre's image will not be the same anymore for the Bourassa voters... He went from the influencial, well spoken, opiniated, savior MP to the black sheep, isolated MP. People don't like that. They also don't like Iggy... That's bad news for Denis. Watch the Bloc in this riding as sometimes big majority melt like snow in the sun. A long delay before the next general election will not play in Coderre's favor unless he finds a way to come back in good terms with the party. Good luck on this one Denis! |

Denis Coderre's vote went up in 2008, and the BQ vote went down. Looks like the riding will stay in the Liberal column for the foreseeable future. Coderre is also now the Quebec Lieutenant for Ignatieff and has an even higher-profile than he did before. |

Every election Bourassa is predicted to be a close LIB-BQ race, and every time Denis Coderre wins by a comfortable margin. Regardless of liberal numbers in Quebec, he will win re-election by a good 5000 vote margin at the very least. |
