One wonders how well the Tories might have done in Drummond had perennial PC/CPC overachiever Lyne Boisvert run again in 2006 (ironically, it was the *Liberal* candidate who overachieved in that particular election). Right now, it's a standard Quebec service-town heartland Bloc seat; but of the sort that proved Bloc-swingable, and could still prove CPC-swingable (as neighbouring St Hyacinthe nearly proved in its byelection). I'll maintain a Bloc prediction for now; but given the quivering, uncertain mass that is Quebec's CPC base, I'm prepared to withhold it on short notice...

Je ne suis pas prêt à donner le Bloc gagnant ici. Trop tôt pour prédire une victoire conservatrice cependant; tout dépendra du candidat du PCC. Il suffit de regarder les trois dernières partielles - notamment à St-Hyacinthe - pour s'en convaincre. TCTC.

Trop tôt pour le dire. Pourrait demeurer bloquiste ou devenir conservatrice si le PCC devait faire au Bloc la même chose que l'ADQ a fait au PQ, soit enlever aux souverainistes les votes des ‘nationalistes mous’. Le Centre-du-Québec serait une terre propice à des gains conservateurs.
