This will be interesting - the Labour MP is a Sikh and the Tories are obviously hoping that their selection of a Muslim candidate will appeal to the large (mainly Muslim) local Asian community. Also in the Tories favour is the large swing they achieved last time, against the national trend, and their success in local elections.

My own "conservative" guess is no guess at all--though it is certainly interesting as a rematch in one of two 1997 seats (the other: Bethnal Green & Bow) where cultural politics flipped C-Lab trending into reverse. Though Singh has "sitting member" advantage now...
