Labour will win here but with a much reduced majority. In the Assembly elections in 1999 Labour's Jane Hutt (now Health Minister in the Welsh 'Government') scraped past the Tories by less than 1000 votes. Labour lost control of Vale of Glamorgan Council after (among other things) a furore about the Council Leader's misuse of the Council Credit Card. Also the Tories had a very good result in a council byelection here a few weeks back. |
