This constituency is more rural than people realise and the Liberal Democrats have strength there. Kevin Scudder is an excellent local candidate and should make progress against the batallions of the other two parties. It will be an uphill battle, but I have a hunch he might surprise us all. |

It would be more than a surprise if the Lib Dems won this seat, it would be a miracle! With a majority of nearly 12,000 Phil Hope is in no real danger against the Tories and in 1997 the Lib Dems were a huge 25,000 votes behind Labour. Should be a relatively easy Lab hold. |
