Bosworth has been Conservative now for over thirty years. It was extremely close in 1997 on the strength of the Labour sweep. Look for the Conservative here to win my a more comfortable, yet close margin. |

Although it was Labour until 1970, Bosworth is now the classic "escapee" from the Massacre of 1997, thanks in part to just the right dash of the Mid-Mid-Midlands commuter class to offset memories of manufacturing and mining. (Though it may be argued that it just lucked into the Tory side of the margin of error, while others like the "Northampton 3" fell on the Labour side.) It should have been that Tredinnick earned a lease on life for surviving 1997, but the way things are trending, this may well be his turn to wave Bye Bye, Bosworth... |
