Eugene Bellemare should win again... but this riding is changing. The Liberal machine that ran the place for years is starting to show cracks. The smashing victory of Brian Coburn in the 1999 Provincial election over machine backed Rene Danis was proof of that. Look for a stronger than expected Alliance vote, in part spurred by the number of Armed Forces personnel who live in the riding. |

Well, in his first race, even Mrs. Who (Maureen McTeer) couldn't knock Bellemarre off. But yes, he should watch it--though maybe not now. But certainly if a '57-Dief-minority-style election leads straight into a '58-Dief-majority-style election... |
