Pundits can make on-line predictions

NIAGARA FALLS-Amateur political pundits can make on-line predictions about the upcoming provincial election. Milton Chan, a politics student at the University of Waterloo, has created a website that lets the astute and ambitious political observers make their picks on a riding-by-riding basis. The site (www.arts.uwaterloo.ca/~m6chan) lists all 103 provincial ridings and the candidates (so far) who are running. Internet users are invited to predict who they think will win and provide a short analysis. Because parties haven't officially named their candidates yet, there are a lot of blanks on the website. But early predictions favour incumbent MPPs to keep their jobs. Conservative Tim Hudak in Erie Lincoln, New Democrat Peter Kormos in Niagara Centre and Liberal Jim Bradley in St. Catharines are early favourites, according to the website.
