Much of Mississauga East evokes a westward expansion of middle-class 60s-70s "Stockwellia"; however, there are plenty of older rental apartments and enough New Canadians to make this a reasonable prospect for an opposition gain. And besides, DeFaria is the most obscure of the Mississauga Tories--whether that's a plus or not, it's up to the constituents to decide.

Hard one to call. No candidate will get a majority of votes. It might be a three way split. The slight advantage would have to be with the tory here. Don't count the NDP out though!

Padda has run effective campaign with Defaria seeming asleep at the switch at times. Will Padda be able to pull vote will tell the tale.

Liberal candidate in the riding did not even bother showing up for a televised debate, which sort of undermines his pledge to be wholly committed to his electorate. Mississauga, perhaps more than almost any other city in the 905 belt, has always been a Tory stronghold....and I've seen nothing in this election that will disrupt that trend.

What's your point R.K., Defaira the PC candidate only showed up for 42% of the legislative votes. What is worse: not showing up for a Rogers (????) interview or not showing up a Queen's Part where the Member for Mississauga East was committed (and paid) to be? Chill out. It's be all over on Thursday and you can find some other obscure issue to pick apart.

This riding has resorted to a mudsling campaign between Liberal Padda and Tory DeFaria. Both of these candidates appear to be an embarassment to their parties and to the riding. DeFaria has been a totally ineffective MPPP and was even editorially critized by the local Conservative newspaper the Mississauga News.Liberals in other Mississauga riding associations are embarassed by Padda.Padda refuses to attend any all candidates meetings. This is the strongest of any Mississauga NDP campaign and their candidate James Kafia has been the best debator. The NDP could suprise some in this riding. This should have been an easy Liberal victory. It is a shame that their MP Albini Guenari could not find someone better than Padda.
